The UK has one of the world’s most developed natural landscapes. A green and pleasant country side, which not only sustains our critical food production but a wonderful environment, public footpaths and natural habitat. Most would want to hand over our heritage to the next generation, in good order.
Our countryside has changed greatly over our lifetime with major losses of meadows, peatlands and wildlife. Natural change has been driven by climate change, economic issues, food demand, land use pressures, pollution, disease, invasive species and poorly considered government policy incentives.
Our farmers stand at the forefront of the stewardship of the UK country side – we would particularly like to listen to your views and farmers issues. Farmers have a buy in which is often a personal heritage and lifetime endeavour. For example. What needs to be changed and why, for the next generation.
